The
Westmoreland Intermediate Unit is home to this large group instruction
room with video conferencing and distance learning capability. Four cameras
are used to cover shots for a panel discussion and student response system.
Student or audience camera
shots are managed via three modes of operation.
Mediated:
Delegates camera shot selection strictly to the instructor or facilitator.
Manual: Allows
participants to call cameras by pushing a button on their individual microphones.
The control system monitors the microphone gating and sets up a wide shot
if the activated microphone is silent for several seconds.
Automatic:
Calls camera shots automatically if a microphone is active for more than
a few seconds, and defaults to a wide shot once the microphone is quiet.
All camera shots are called,
and all camera movement is stopped before the shot is taken. All automatically
called presets are replicated on both front cameras, eliminating the recording
or transmission of camera motion during acquisition of presets. The
shots are called, moved and stopped before the switch. |
